Who was Vitruvius?
Marcus Vitruvius Pollio, commonly known as Vitruvius, was a Roman architect, engineer, and writer who lived in the 1st century BC.
His monumental work, De architectura (On architecture), is the only surviving major book on Roman and Greek architecture.
