Clean your air the old way
Musty, stale smells can often occur in older buildings.
So give this old trick a try:
It's easy, it's cheap and the ingredients are normally found in your kitchen!
Salt, Vinegar & Water
- Half Fill a glass with clean water.
- Gently Stir in 1 tablespoon of salt (rock salt if you have some, or table salt if not) until it's all completely dissolved
- Add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar (bown 'malt' vinegar will work too but if the cat knocks it over, your carpet might not look too good!)
- Place the glass, left uncovered, in the room that needs freshening up.
- Renew the mixture every two to three days for the best results.
So how does it work?
- The Vinegar naturally contains acetic acid, which neutralises strong odours and breaks down airborne particles.
- The Salt helps to absorb moisture and enhances the deodourising effect of vinegar.
- The Water simply acts as a carrier, allowing the ingredients to circulate effectively in the air.
