What is a cost effective interior emulsion paint that can be used on period and listed buildings?

Cost must always be  considered for any project you are undertaking. The reality is that we see and here so many people who have big dreams, but have not really considered the costs involved. Life does not simply give way for your project, there are always other expenditures which must be catered for alongside your dreams. The first one we see regularly is relating to interior paint costs, and frankly we are astounded at some of the prices being charged nowadays y the fancy pants brands out there, and there are always cheaper (andoften better quality paints available, but you need to learn how to find them!

 

B&Q, Wickes and all the other"big sheds" are not the places to go to. If you want to act like a professional and not just like a TV programme watcher, then start acting like a professional! Trade paint suppliers are the places to go to, for various reasons:

 

A) Having spent time at a paint manufacturers plant based in Oxfordshire, working through the whole paint manufacturing, and packaging processes, we can tell you that the paint you can buy in the big sheds are not the same quality as the paints you will buy in a trade paints suppliers: very simply put, once you have used enough paint and become knowledgeable  and experienced, you will instantly notice te differences, even though you might see that the cans look the same! Professional Painters and Decorators don't go to the big sheds, so why are you?

 

B) the staff in the big sheds are often less knowledgeable than you are, so what expert help are you going to get in the sheds? Staff in trade paint suppliers gather product knowledge through training courses and by chatting with professionals everyday!

So you get a great price from a well established British Company, and having known and used Brewers for 50 years ourselves, we have never had an issue with their paints, they offer colour matching services from cross matching other brands colour cards to photospectrometer matching from what you already have in your home. Big sheds seem to offer:  "umm, I dunno"
