Mirror, mirror on the wall:
How do know who's the fairest of us all?
The oldest known artificial mirrors yet discovered were excavated from a site on the central Anatolian plateau in modern Turkey, dating to around 6000 BCE. They comprised of obsidian, which is a naturally occurring volcanic glass that, when its surface is finely polished, reflects images with remarkable clarity. The craftspeople of Turkey appeared to have selected suitable obsidian pieces, and then polished them in stages — first leveling the surface by using coarse stones, and then progressively refining the Obsidian with finer materials (likely stones again).
In the final stages, Archaeologists found that animal fat/s and most likely soft cloths were used to complete the reflective face. But still today, with major advances in technology:

Mirrors lie
We often take mirrors for granted, assuming they show us an accurate reflection of reality. However, mirrors can hold secrets and illusions.
Their age, manufacturing techniques, and placement can significantly alter perceptions and even hide crucial details about an oblect's true condition, true history, even true beauty.

Seeing beyond the obvious
We believe that most people seldom realise the obvious. So we encourage people to take a deeper look into mirrors.
Consider how light interacts, and can easily create misleading impressions etc, the list could be endless, that's your list.

The often missed obvious
This page is for anyone with an interest in physics, simply because a mirror is a physical object.
Using modern technology you can easily take a selfie these days, Then stand in front of a mirror and compare the mirror image, to the selfie image. In the mirror, your left becomes your right, and vice versa.
This means that the view you've always thought of being you, and maybe have done for years/decades, the view you've shaved to, you've combed your hair to, done your make-up to (some, anyway! (Hopefully)), ensured your clothes looked good to, even checked your school-tie to, is not true.
Whereas your selfie image, is true, proving that science is continually evolving.
Think.
The inquisitive mind prevails, where the Assumptive mind fails.
If there's one key takeaway from this page, it's to never assume, as we continually endorse. Always question, always observe, and seek a deeper understanding; it's as easy as A B C - Assume nothing, Believe nobody, Challenge everything.
